About Us

History

Jeffrey Simon, James Simon and Sidney Theo Bertrand founded Coastal Automation Services, Inc. in 2009. They decided to start their own company that focused on Safety, Teamwork, Quality and Integrity. CAS started small as an Automation company providing in-house and in-plant automation services to local industries in the golden triangle area. By 2011, they started adding employees and expanded services to include instrument/electrical engineering and design services. By 2014, they had outgrown their office building so they purchased the current office building (30,000 sq. ft.) which is located at 2295 Delaware Street in Beaumont, TX on four acres. CAS is now a multi-discipline, full-service engineering company with Professional Engineers providing the petrochemical market with both in-house and in-plant services. CAS offers Fully Integrated Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Services, including Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies. CAS is considered one of the preferred top technical companies in the Southeast Texas area.

Jeffrey P. Simon

CEO / Co-Founder

Jeffrey is Co-Founder and One of the Principal owners of CAS since its inception in 2009. During his 35 years in the Petro Chemical business, he has worked on projects ranging from process unit modifications to complete grass root refinery units. Jeffrey’s experience includes lead management duties on various Capital projects throughout his 35 year career. His Industrial experience and leadership have helped grow CAS into a full-service engineering company. Jeffrey is a graduate of Lamar University Beaumont, Texas.

James P. Simon

COO / Co-Founder

James is Co-Founder and One of the Principal owners of CAS since its inception in 2009. During his 31 years in the Petro Chemical business, he has worked on projects ranging from process unit modifications to complete grass root refinery units. James hands-on experience and leadership help identify effective technology solutions in the ever-evolving world of Industrial Engineering/Automation projects. His Industrial experience and leadership have helped grow CAS into a full-service engineering company. James is a graduate of Lamar University Beaumont, Texas.

Sidney Theo Bertrand

CFO / Co-Founder

Theo is Co-Founder and One of the Principal owners of CAS since its inception in 2009. He has worked in the Petrochemical Industry for 35 years in the Engineering, Design and Automation fields in and out of the golden triangle area. He is one of the valuable assets to the day to day Operations of the Company. His Industrial experience and leadership have helped grow CAS into a full-service engineering company. Theo is a graduate of Lamar University Beaumont, Texas.
